Organic
Vignerons Australia was formed in February 2002.
Our first vintage 2002 was bottled in September 2003.
The group
was formed by the owners of 5 certified organic
properties:
• Claire and Kevin Hansen of Merlot Grove
Padthaway (Limestone Coast)
• Terry Markou of Cheveat Estate at
Gawler River (Adelaide Plains)
• Brett and Melissa Munchenberg of Loxton
(Riverland)
• Bruce and Sue Armstrong of Lone Pine Vineyard
at Waikerie (Riverland)
• David and Barbara Bruer of Temple Bruer Wines
at Langhorne Creek. Temple

All of whom started down the organic certification path by
themselves, clearly demonstrating we have a committed group,
passionate about their environment and the future of the planet.
We also have a healthier working environment because we are
not handling chemicals on a weekly basis. The broad geographical
spread throughout South Australia provides varying micro climates,
soil types and grape varieties. This enables our skilled winemaker
to blend grapes from different regions and varieties resulting
in our award winning blends.
Environmental
health and the future environmental benefits of organic farming
are extremely important to us all. Support of Organic Vignerons
Australia will ultimately contribute to more farmers choosing
to grow this way in the future.
